Blue Parade

I hear them coming
The blue parade
They're throwing snowflakes and
Singing my name
In deep blue voices
I hear them say,
There's good love out there
Just you wait...

Hold on, I'm coming
Don't let anybody in

He don't read stars now 'cause he's getting old
So busy neutralizing
So much it leaves me cold and
How could you lie
How could you leave?
And take of my body, my hands,
My deep blue dreams...

Hold on, I'm coming
Don't let anybody in
Hold on, I'm ready
Lock your doors and wait for me

Now leaves are falling
From the mercy tree
The blue surrounds me
So I can get some sleep, and
Katie calls, and she'll say
'There's good love out there
Just you wait

You wait'

Oh, hold on, I'm coming
Don't let anybody in
Oh, hold on, I'm ready
Lock your doors and wait for me

Rush

The snow is falling, the wind is whipping, and I am laughing as I stare out the window of the warm bus and contemplate the fact that this time last year I was crouched unconfortably in a bush somewhere in the middle of nowhere, clad in bright red/orange holding a rifle and wishing I was anywhere but there. My toes would be frozen, and I would most likely have had to pee. But not this morning. This morning I slept until I felt like getting out of bed, and lazily rode to school to type out the rest of my paper. I have not finished it yet, and will not, just like the good ol' high school days, until aprroximately 10 mins before it is due, that is, the extension due date. Just thought I'd share that with y'all.

as yet untitlted

There was a stampede of a slimy white trash herd above the roof in my house and when the dust finally settled, all that was left was a few grimy boxes and a cd from The Game. Translation? The psychos that were living upstairs moved out on 11/29/05. Gonna miss the little buggers.

Enter Daryl. Or maybe its Darren? Or...Deryk...? Anyway, I was bidding my boyfriend adiou a few nights ago, and when I came into the dark porch, he was standing in the corner, all bundled up and I screamed because he quite startled me! Then I nervously said hi and he mumbled something about how he just moved into today, like he was expecting some kind of welcome cake or something and I shoved my key in the door and said a chipper Nice to meet you! and he's like Hi I'm Da(insert proper ending...). I gave him my name (ugh) and bolted inside.

Tis the season to be jolly. Tis the season to chew your nails till they bleed as you pathetically scramble to start(yes...START) your 8 page philosophy paper. Tis the season to bake gingersnap cookies after having spent half an hour squeezing the crap out of a carton of molasses. Tis the season to sympathetically go Christmas shopping with your grumpy boyfriend who rants the whole time about how much he hates Christmas. Tis the season to roast marshmallows over your open fireplace IN YOUR LIVING ROOM (thats right people, envy me...) with said boyfriend and remember why being around him makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. Tis the season to go out the wrong entrance of the mall at 11:00pm after having left your coat in the car, and run around the perimeter to arrive nearly frozen and quite whiney. Tis the season to wish that you had a job so that you could scrape and save and perhaps someday bypass the highway that would take you home and make a beeline for the airport to spent the next month in Hawaii. Tis the season to spend time with the people you love and care about, whoever they may be, because in the end, relationships are what counts in life. So screw the mall and the credit card bills and the near bankrupcy. Lets remember what we are celebrating and why we are celebrating it. You don't have to buy your [enter relative/peer] $100 worth of presents just because he/she is for you. Give people what you WANT to give them, not what you think they want. Isn't that the point? The gifts that I've felt the best about giving have been the ones that nearly cost me nothing. Their worth was in that they were from the heart. I especially feel that way this year because I am *sigh* a struggling college student and probably won't be able to get very many, if any at all, presents (so i joke that I'm gonna learn to knit in the next week and somehow manage to make everyone i know a scarf!)And please remember...even if you don't have money, you have things which are worth far more. Time, compassion, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a smile, a hello.

Rebirth

Haha isnt the title lame? I thought so too. You see, the thing about blogs is that, unless you're Paris Hilton, no one really follows them TO THE LETTER. Infact, as I am typing this, no one knows are even cares about this blog. And that is why I love them. Because you write to the world, but really, you're only writing to yourself.
I'm going to begin my blog like I never missed a beat.....

I intended to spend the long weekend studying furiously for my physics midterm next Thursday, but instead spent it sulking about my leaky radiator. Being stranded put me in a very bad mood, that and I was waiting for Boston Pizza to call back and tell me that I'M HIRED! Buuuut that didn't happen. So now I won't have a day off really until Christmas, and that sucks. I live in a different city now. My life is pretty much completely changed since the last time I wrote in here, not like anyone's listening anyways. I will not backtrack at this time.
I live beneath a herd of porn-watching, chain-smoking, rap-blaring, profanity-spewing elephants. That's the sugar coated version. Just thought I'd introduce them. They will make guest appearances in this blog every now and again.
On April 27th, 2005, my car broke down in Verillion, Alberta. My radiator was shot.
On June 23rd, 2005, my car broke down in my hometown. One of the lugnuts was seared.
On June 27th, 2005, my car broke down about 30ft from the last time. The driver-side axle fell off.
The repairs for these incidents cost me over $2500, much of which I have yet to pay off. It is my every waking thought and constant goal. However, living off student loans does not allow one to finance car repairs. SO I WANT A JOB. Not just any job.
I WANT TO BE A WAITRESS
Around April 13, I had two interviews for a waitressing job at Boston Pizza. I didn't get hired but found out later that it was only because of my availability. I was working at a clothing store at the time and didn't get off work until 5:30pm. Last Tuesday, November 7th, I had an interview at Boston Pizza, and they said they would call Thursay either way. They did not call. I don't know if i should hold on to the little bit of hope that I have that they haven't hired yet because they were too busy during the long weekend, or convince myself that I didn't get the job. I cannot describe how much I want this job. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
So sulking around about my car and unemployment sucked, so I bought myself 2 CD's to cheer me up! :) They are: Ashlee Simpson "I Am Me" and Death Cab for Cutie "Plans." So far I like DCFC better. Infact, I love it. It has the same singer as Postal Service, which I also love and was going to buy, but It was twice as much. I am content with this one for now, but I also want PS in the future. I am still really bummed out about BP's. I even did Calculus homework to take my mind off it! Stay posted for further announcements. Since I know no one is listening, I'll cross my fingers for myself.....

Miss Brightside

Coming out of my cage and i been doin just fine
gotta gotta be down because i want it all
it started out with a kiss
how did it end up like this
IT WAS ONLY A KISS
it was ONLY a kiss
now im falling asleep and shes calling a cab
while hes having a smoke and shes taking a drag
now they're going to bed and my stomach is sick
and its all in my head but shes touching his chest now
he takes off her dress now
LET ME GO
cuz i just cant look
its KILLING me
and taking control

JEALOUSY
turing saints into the sea
swimming through SICK lullabies
choking on your allabies
but ITS JUST THE PRICE I PAY
destiny is calling me
open up my eager eyes
cuz im missbrightside

The girl with the broken smile

Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself.
She was always there to help him
he always belonged to someone else
I ran for miles and miles and wound up at your door.
I wanted you so many times and still want so much more.

I don't mind spending everyday
out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
ask her if she wants to stay a while
and she will be loved
she will be loved

Tap on my window
knock on my door
you make me want to be beautiful
I know i tend to get so insecure
it doesn't matter anymore.
Its not always rainbows and butterflies
its compromise
it moves us along
My heart is full and my door's always open
you come anytime you want!

I wouldnt mind spending everyday
out on your corner in the pouring rain
and i dont mind the mistakes that you make
cuz when it comes to that im just the same
so you will be loved
you will be loved
you will be loved

Do you know why I hide alone in my van?
Do you know all of thing that make me who i am?
Do you know that goodbye means nothing at all?
I'll come back cuz i want to catch you everytime you fall

Tap on my window
Knock on my door
I never told you you're beautiful

I feel like I'm spending everyday
out on your corner in the pouring rain.
I am the girl with the broken smile.
I wish you'd call me every once in a while
Will she be loved?
Will she be loved?
Will she be loved?
Will she be loved?
(I have tried so hard to say goodbye)
(I have tried so hard to say goodbye)

Anthem of Our Dying Dishwasher

So there's six people living in my house, right? At first it was small signals...more like warnings. First the cups would be streaky, then the silverware refused to come out clean. Finally, only plates would behave, and even they were a little shady. The dishwasher has risen against us..and conquered, and my parents were in denial.

" It works fine. Just don't use it."..." Dishwashers should last 20 years. It just need to be fixed."
But when they turn the power supply off and board up the door......

You can't really know unless you've ever been to my house.

THERE

ARE

SO

MANY

FREAKING

DISHES.

We're talking three counters, AND a table full...on a good day.
And it's my night to wash. Praise my brother for lending me his iPod. Nothing a few hours and some Story of the Year won't cure.
I thought long and hard about writing a poem about my dishwashing woes, but I decided against it. I wasn't that desperate, and that required thought. You don't want to think when you have to wash that many dishes. It's dangerous.

iRock therefore iPod _\m/

" Hey P!nk, check it out! iPod minis are in Canada now."
" Shut up."
" No for real."
" Whatever."
" I'm serious."
" I believe you."
" Ok....."

Such was the nature of the conversation followed by a mad dash to the computer, a frantic sign-on to Apple.ca and a quick discovery that, indeed, they were now here, waaay up north. You mean they have battery recharger-friendly outlets in igloos? Who'da thunk...
So I've only wanted one of these since, oh, THE DAY I WAS BORN!
Ok maybe that's a little extreme, but at least since the day THEY were born! And now there it was, my little green jewel, only a credit card number, $442.32, 4-6 week's shipping, and a mouse click away! But wait...that's a lot of clothes...and those cute pink and brown shoes from Bata...and those red pointy-toed boots from Transit...and that rollerblade brake...and a hairdo..and...and...I HAVE TO HAVE IT! but first I need a credit card..that's a hurdle and a half.

" Mom, I need to borrow your credit card to drop half a grand on a piece of electronic equiptment smaller than the palm of my hand, ok?"
" Sure honey. Whatever you need."
RRRRRight. I had thrown in the towel before the mental scene even ended. I'll just settle for...my broken CD burner*tear*

I turned on iTunes and busted out my favorite live track..the one that I would never be able to crank on my subwoof-ified stereo..or show to my friends......unless of course I hooked up my iPod mini to my stereo with an auxilary cable...

Once again, it was the live music that did me in. I swallowed the lump of fear in my throat and went and knocked on my parent's bedroom door. It opened.
"um...Can I please borrow your credit card? I'll pay you back tomorrow, I promise."
" You're not going to wait for it to get cheaper?"
" No! Stuff like this takes forever to get cheaper."
(To my Dad)" Is Apple.com a good enough place to buy something from?"
" Oh yeah, sure."
I see a banana, and he's going for a credit card....and just wait...HE GOT THE CARD!

So let's get this sucker ordered, it'll be obselete by the time it gets here anyway...
A credit card novice and slightly nervous, it took me several tries to get the number typed out right, not to mention my brother hanging over my shoulder and my mom pacing nervously around me. "I'm just waiting to get my card back."
RRRRRight...you're just don't want us to SPREE!!!MUAHAHAHAHhahaha..hahaha..ha *cough cough* Anyhoo...
To make a long story short, the order went through and my baby is on its way!!!! Maybe I should rephrase that....whatever.

It wasn't until after the card had been returned that we realised we should have got the Yellowcard tickets...oops.

Band Tee's and slimy kittens

T-Minus two months until RAWKD@TE! Spent a great deal of time looking at band Tee's online today. Our goal? To come home with as much of the band's equiptment as possible, mostly picks, drum sticks and such. And, I'm buying a hoodie.

I would just like to rant that since the closing of TFM, WALMART *spits* is now the only place in town to buy cd's and their selection is crap. When I went to the checkout and they asked me if I found everything I was looking for, I lied and said yes.
If I have to drive an hour and a half everytime I want to buy a cd...
~Currently thinking about opening a new CD store as well as a movie theatre.

My heroic deed of the day? Climbing into the greasy slimy mostly-likely-AIDS-infested bar dumbster to save a savagely wild hissing black kitten, with a minnow net after I had just showered and running late for work.

Swing Swing

Swing swing from the tangles of my heart, it's crushed by a former love. Can you help me find a way to carry on again?

So I called up my recently-moved-out sis, or she called me rather, and we decided to get a movie. She came over and dragged me along with her to the video store. I didn't want to go, but I had no say in the matter. After having worked a stressful 7:30 to 3:30 shift, I came home and slept for an hourish and didn't bother to shower. So there I was looking like crap and being held against my will. We get half a block from my house when I see that mainstreet is blocked off. To make matters worse, the WHOLE STREET is full of hotties! Why? Cruise Night 2004. Where all the special vehicle junkies put their babies on display. It's like walking through an episode of Overhaulin. So we walk through the crowd, i'm hoping im invisible, and arrive at the movie store. We get the DVD, and take off. BUT OF COURSE my sister has to run into her friends parents, and inevitably ends up talking for 45 mins while I stand there. I find out that the one car I liked ( a red mustang) belongs to my former physics teacher. Laughing out loud. As well, the little hockey player sitting behind where we were standing had a rotweiler puppy, so I dealt. FINALLY we get home and watch the movie. The Prince And Me. Saw it in the theatre. Good kissing movie.

Worked a trippy 11-7 shift today.LOOOVED sleeping in till ten. First time in forever on a Saturday, although finding myself ready to leave at 10:15, I wished I had slept longer, but I woke up to my stereo cranking Collective Soul, so it was all good. Wanted to come home and pump it out on the subwoofer upstairs but my bro said the family was back from the lake. Chuck that idea. At some point during the evening, a couple of extemely loaded men (and I dont mean money) came through drive-thru asking for a bowl of jello, a cheezwhiz sandwich, and a bottle of vodka. A short while previous, a man missing most of his teeth spent about five minutes telling me that he didn't like the color of a car that drove by. It was green and quite frankly, I LOVED the color! I tried to tell him that but he kept mumbling something about puke green and wouldn't listen. Dude, if your puke is that color, maybe you should see a doctor, buddy. Came home and ran, according to the rents, 4 miles, then had supper. I am now, sad to admit, trying to download some tunes. Fell in love with a coupla wide mouth songs but I can't find the one I really liked. Anywhere, not even on their website. Maybe it's a new release....Anyone heard of Indecision???????

So Much Time, So Little Concerts...

Wellllll the summer is almost over and let me be the first to say that this one has SUCKED but what can ya do? Too much work and not enough play.....ho hum. Last night i went to see WIDE MOUTH MASON at the fair. That rocked out loud. I wanted to go on the Ferris wheel ( no connection to my name) but tickets are a BUCK each and it took 4! soooo i cheaped out and didnt go. We went to the "petting" zoo and there was a llama! I wanted to pet it but it looked evil, and everytime i stuck my hand out, I got creeped and withdrew. Seriously twisted llama. I wanted to go to the demo derby tonight but no one to go with...sigh...Is it just me or it freezing these days? Fall better hold off for a bit.

I would like to announce that, since the tragic *tear* breakdown of my CD burner, I have been doing it the legal way and have recently bought...FOUR CDs! This is a record for me. They include..Spiderman 2 soundtrack, Dashboard Confessional, Emm Gryner, and Maroon 5. I soon hope to add to my collection The Get Up Kids. Good band. Check it out. To anyone who i promised a CD to, I am sorry, it may not come for a while....

Went and saw Princess Diaries 2 on Tues. Goodish. The guy was hot, but there were soooo many little tweenybopperz running around. Like, Let's, like, go shopping! *rolls eyes* When is Cinderella Story coming...?!??!?!

Currently listening to Yellowcard. Countdown to RawkD@te: two months and three days. Yuck thats a long time.

Heard on the radio today that it's almost back to school time. Muahahhaa not for this chik! I'm done baby, and I aint goin back!...for a while. Was gonna take a photography class but its gonna cost almost 600 bux. Thought i'd wait till next year and settle for my disposable camera and the library photography section.

My new enemy? Tim Hortons NEW Toffee Glazed Donuts©. I swear on my life I made 500 of those things today. Stressful? no of course not, but when you can't even stockpile those things fast enough before they sell out and the oven will be out of order for an hour during rush hour. Oh well, all goes down as Good Timez@Timz.
Ok ok i cracked and have decided to conform *sniff* and give up my pink shoes for black boring soon-to-be-dress-code "special slip resistant"ones. It was hard, I admit. But my days there are limited and if I gotta wear the shoes to make them happy then fine. BUT I am putting P!nk laces in them.
